Zomba Diocese Research and Development Department

ZARRD

Zomba Diocese Research and Development Department (ZARDD), formerly known as CADECOM Zomba, was established in 2010 to combine all the development work being done by Catholic development organisations in Zomba Diocese.

ZARDD implements programmes in the areas of governance, education, communication, livelihoods, health and community empowerment. It aims to ensure that vulnerable people in the communities, particularly women and girls, access basic needs and are supported to build resilience to climate change and so achieve better livelihoods.

Its mandate includes promoting justice, human dignity and self-reliance through the active participation of the people so that they take up responsibility of their own destiny.

As a Catholic development agency they work with any vulnerable groups of society regardless of gender, religion or ethnicity.

Within the CCPM it works with communities in the Zomba district.
